The Totally Kids Club, for children up to 12-years old, encourages savings. Accounts may be opened with as little as $5 -- no fees. The Community Promise program for teens includes special ATM card and complete bank training session. CNB supports the ABA programs--National Teach Children to Save Day and Get Smart About Credit. Gilman Housing Trust--Neighbor Works ® Home Ownership Center

Resource for Adults
Details
Gilman Housing Trust offers a 3-part financial literacy workshop series, "Your Money--Your Choices," once a year in Caledonia county and once a year in Orleans county. Topics include spending plans, debt reduction, credit, avoiding high-cost financial services, and the basics of investing. The workshop fee is $5 if a participant attends all three workshops. Center staff also offer financial counseling for homebuyers, as well as counseling for homeowners facing foreclosure.

Resource for Adults and High School students
Details

Financial Literacy workshops are offered on a variety of topics including budgeting, identity theft, credit/debit cards, credit building and repair, and asset protection. These workshops are open to area high schools, as well as community based organizations, at no charge.

Details
Essex county-based satellite offices are located in Island Pond and Canaan. NEKCA provides free financial literacy classes using FDIC's "Money Smart" and NEFE's "Finding Paths to Prosperity" curriculum. NEKCA also provides one-on-one credit counseling. NEKCA staff is NACCC certified.

Passumpsic Savings Bank

Resource for K-12 and Adults
Details
Passumpsic Savings Bank provides free financial literacy programs to both students and adults. Twelve schools in the Northeast Kingdom receive instructional course materials sponsored by the bank on how to open and manage a checking account and how to establish credit and understand the lending process. PSB participates in the National Teach Children to Save Day by participating in classroom programs throughout the bank's market area. Bank staff are also available to work with community organizations on financial literacy training programs.
