Vermont Students Recognized for Achievement in Financial Literacy Programs

MONTPELIER, Vt.— State Treasurer Beth Pearce today joined with Governor Phil Scott to recognize student achievement in the “Reading is an Investment” program and the “Be Money Wise” financial literacy poster contest. Both programs are administered by the Treasurer’s Office to engage student interest in money management skills.

State Treasurers Applaud U.S. Legislators for Encouraging Congress to Keep Municipal Bonds Tax-Exempt

Washington, D.C. - The National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) commended more than 150 Members of Congress today for sending a letter to the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee leadership, urging them to preserve the tax-exempt status of municipal bonds as the committee considers tax reform and infrastructure financing.

State Treasurer Beth Pearce Launches VermontABLE Savings Initiative for Vermonters with Disabilities

Vermont State Treasurer Beth Pearce announced today that Vermonters with disabilities can now start saving and investing in tax-advantaged VermontABLE accounts, making Vermont one of only a handful of states to offer a plan since President Obama signed the Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act into law in December 2014.
