Montpelier, VT – Michael S. Pieciak will take the oath of office as Vermont’s 31st State Treasurer in a joint session of the House and Senate at 2:00 p.m. today. He issued the following statement:
It’s an honor to be sworn in as Vermont’s next State Treasurer and to have my former boss, Governor Scott, administer the oath. I look forward to working with the Governor and the Legislature this upcoming session and demonstrating that public servants in Vermont can still work across the aisle.
Treasurer Pearce built a knowledgeable and dedicated team and I’m fortunate to work with them to manage our public sector pension system, continue to build a sustainable economy, and expand financing for new housing, which is so desperately needed across our state.
While today’s ceremony will be memorable for me and my family, I’m most excited to begin the real work of the office and deliver for Vermonters.
