April is Financial Literacy Month in the U.S., intended to raise awareness about developing good money habits early on.
This week, Vermont State Treasurer Mike Pieciak joined Vermont's top banking regulator at Winooski High School, which is one of the few schools in the state to require every graduate to take a course in personal finance.
A bill pending in Montpelier, H228, would require all high schools to follow suit. Lawmakers so far have taken no action.
